Here are the last of the ten wedding reception wreckers you need to consider if you're planning a wedding. These ten issues can have a very negative impact on the outcome of your reception. Even if you play the best wedding dance songs, you still may have a hard time getting your guests involved and getting them onto the dance floor. I know you're thinking, "I have enough on my plate as I plan my wedding!" That's why I made these videos to help you with your wedding planning not give you additional things to worry about. So, take this advice and run with it! Here's numbers 9 and 10!
Number nine refers to having wedding entertainment that's not up to snuff. A professional playing all of your wedding songs is optimum, but sometimes we try to cut corners and we go with "cheap" DJ's or bands. Your DJ should have all of your special songs, such as your wedding march, recessional songs and all of your cocktail hour wedding songs and that's just the start of what your wedding entertainment should do.
If you've hired a professional DJ company, they should help you with your wedding songs timeline and help you put together all of your wedding reception songs. They should know about the three song rule and they should have ideas to help you get your friends and family involved so they feel like they are a part of the day.
Number ten means either you've set up the wrong wedding song suggestions or, again, your DJ or band made some poor choices with your music selection. It mostly refers to how sometimes bands or DJ's play the music THEY want to hear. 45 minutes of rap may be cool for teenagers, but most of your guests want a variety. Mix new wedding songs with some oldies and Motown.

Number 7 is a biggie. If you have dinner in one room, you'll have a hard time getting people to come dance even if you play the best wedding dance songs ever. You might try some new wedding songs like California Gurls by Katy Perry, find that no one is dancing and think, "OMG. I guess people don't want top 40 music!"
The thing is, people really do. They love wedding songs that are up to date and any wedding song suggestions I make in my wedding songs timeline planner will work if you don't have the above situation, that is dinner in one room, dancing in another.
Your wedding reception songs for dancing will work in a room where everyone is together, all night. This is what you should shoot for. As you end your ceremony with one of my fun recessional songs suggestions, then play your upbeat cocktail hour wedding songs, you'll notice an energy building and that should lead people straight into a fun dinner and lots of dancing! Which brings me to number 8, the lights don't get dimmed for dancing.
You may think, "Whatever! This isn't that big of a deal." Maybe not if your crowd is way outgoing and ready to par-tay, but if there's even the slightest hesitation for your guests to get on the dance floor, a bright room will only amplify their fear of everyone watching them dance. During your wedding, you want it to be bright so everyone can see the parents and bridesmaids as they walk down to the ceremony processionals and especially the bride when she enter to the wedding march.
Make sure your location understands that as soon as the special dances are over, dim those lights. Actually, you can even tell them to dim the lights during the wedding party dance, that way, you can start inviting people to the dance floor immediately.
